A chance to see our Les Paul Junior Style build with full face Sugar Skull plate, matching truss rod cover and headstock fascia as seen below!

Busy getting ready for the Northern Guitar Show at Rainton Meadows on Sunday 10th March! Looking forward to meeting new customers  – if there’s anything you would like to see, let me know.

We’ll be bringing along the latest builds from Bridge Street Guitars – hoping to get our Les Paul Junior with full face etched plate finessed by then.

I wasn’t completely happy with the way it looked when I showed it at the London Guitar Show last year, so I have given the plate a different finish, and the guitar itself will have a different pickup. Will try to gets pics up, if not here then definitely the Facebook page, so keep an eye out!

Have updated the T Style gallery to include different pickup configurations, and am working on an “Other Shapes” page and gallery, as I don’t just do Telecaster guards, just about any shape is possible with a template.

Little monochrome collage of recent stuff below!

Feel bad that I haven’t been posting as regularly on here as I have on Facebook. I have been busy though……

Just got back from two weeks in lovely sunny California, and although I’m knackered, I’m ready for new projects. I have got some already in the pipeline as Custom Cool Etch and Bridge Street Guitars are doing the London International Guitar Show at Kempton Park on Sunday 28th October from 10 – 4.30.

Lots of exciting new work to see so get along and see us if you can!

I have already posted this on FB, but I am going to have to increase my prices as the Brexit uncertainty is pushing metal prices up – T style plates will start at £85, Strat style at £130. Smaller items will stay roughly around the same price as they are at the moment, but as ever, for custom options please contact me.

As you can see from the collages and pics below I am happy to do any shape, but I must have a template to work from, and custom artwork is extra as it takes time to do!

Incidentally, the thinline style plate is actually fitted onto a standard Tele body – the plate has been redesigned to fit the routing as I really like the sinuous thinline shape, and it may become our signature style for plates/guards on our builds. You’ll be able to see this at the Guitar show as it will be for sale there. Grab yourself an early Christmas present!

The large brass rose design plate is an Ovation Beadwinner for Andy Avison at Nottingham City Guitars

Have been very busy with orders since the start of the New Year, which is great. Things that are going well at the moment are smaller hardware items like control plates and neck plates. Prices for these start at £70 for a control plate – these are hand cut from thicker nickel sheet (or brass, copper, bronze), and take longer, hence the price. Neck plates start at £50. Please note I only use me own designs, but can incorporate text or a basic logo (as long as you have the copyright!) in the price, more intricate artwork costs slightly more.

Here are a few sets of tele style plates and matching control plates:NCG Build_1NCG Build_2The above plates were done for Andy Avison at Nottingham City Guitars. The next set were for a Nashville Tele:

The next set is a heavily patinated black rose design on Richard Moore’s relic aztec gold tele, this includes a neck plate as well, and there is a clse up of the neck plate to show the design better.

At the moment we (Bridge Street Guitars and Custom Cool Etch) are getting ready for The Northern Guitar Show at Rainton Meadows on 18th March. As I have two large projects to try and finish before then, I will not be taking any more orders until the end of March.

I will post pics of work in progress hopefully!

Haven’t posted for a little while – been very busy!

Lots of pics to show. First a 335 scratchplate in brass for John Green, with a new roses pattern, quite a light patination on this one, but it enhances the pattern so much better. The build is by Andy Avison at Nottingham City Guitars

Also for John, I did a customised Nashville ‘plate with two strat size pickups, in a red paisley design.

I got a request for a customised neck plate, and these are proving popular – here are a couple as an example.N Plate CollageNeckPlate Final_1These have an initial to personalise them, but you could just have a motif or small logo as part of the design. These are going for about £50 in nickel, so ideal for a Christmas gift!

Last but not least, a large ‘plate along the same lines (design wise) as the full face scratchplate I did earlier in the year. This Tele Deluxe plate took a while, but it was worth it in the end, it looks amazing in situ!

The “N” neck plate above was part of the same project.

And that’s about it for now. Please get in touch if you like what you see and would like something similar for your own guitar!
